This story has an amazing storyline that completely draws you into. You cannot help falling in love with the characters and feeling all of their emotions as if they were you. This story sucks you in and I couldn't put it down until the end. I cannot wait for the next book!
There was verbiage used throughout the book that was not appropriate in the time frame the story took place. Underwhelmed.
I purchased The Awaken because I was intrigued by the book's description. I was very disappointed with the lack of detail and dialog. The book read more like an outline than an edited book.

I had downloaded Angel Heart, Kindred Spirits, and Royal Family. Thought they were pretty good, but Awaken the Passion turned out to be quite a disappointment! It focuses on Rachael (daughter of Keni of the previous books) who decides to "runaway" with her prince angel Sammael. Initially she runs off because he puts a spell on her and convinces her that she loves him. Eventually she truly does love him. Sammael (an angel of death) can't quite decide if he is good or evil. I'm sorry but I had to really force myself to finish. Half the time I just wanted to slap Rachael. The characters--even the ones from the previous books--fell flat in this one. I didn't give a rat's patootie about any of them! I am very disappointed with this one. Also (as previous reviewers stated) the usage of today's vernacular in a time era thousands of years ago did bother me but I plunged on. I really feel as though Summer Lee was getting tired of this series herself and this is what we got. A shame because the entire premise was interesting and could have been a good one..
I was looking forward to reading the following books of Summer Lee, but although there is a good story line, I was a little disappointed.
I really liked the first three books in this series but book 4 almost feels like it was written by someone who didn't read the book before it. In the previous version one of the characters was married and in this version the same woman was a spinster living alone. The mother was also portrayed with totally different feelings about the men in her life as she was in the previous book. The look backs to her past changed the events from the book before. I honestly was looking forward to reading this and was rather disappointed. Though the writing was very good, the character development was not as good as the first three books.
Oh I so love this set. I got into it and just couldn't stop. I was so sad to see it end.
